A five minute drive to the NW is the village of Serpins, which has a few bars, small local supermarket, post office and pharmacy. There is a railway station with regular trains to Coimbra via Lousã and Miranda do Corvo. The line winds it’s way through beautiful countryside and villages all the way to Coimbra, and takes about an hour. Lousã, the nearest town, is a 15 minute drive to the SW and has all the facilities you would expect, including restaurants, bars, shops, four good size supermarkets, banks and medical centre etc. Porto airport is approximately two hours to the north by road. To the south Lisbon is two and a half hours and the Algarve around five. All have good road and rail links. The train service is punctual, clean and reasonably inexpensive. A journey to Porto airport takes about 3 hours.
